I am currently reading the novel Frank and I written in the early twentieth century by an anonymous author. One of the amazing things to me is the literary quality of the erotic works of the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. Frank and I is a work of literature. It's not porn. It is typical of the erotic works written prior to the 1960s. They are for the most part literary works.

Stories of the past are better because then people had to use their imagination more. Now, it's so hard to come up with anything new, different, fresh and original. It's hard enough to come up with something to interest readers, it's ever harder to come up with something to stimulate the mind sexually. In today's time most of us have see it all, read it all or tried it all. Keep reading the vintage stuff, you will find a lot of far better then what is around today.

Out of the literal thousands of contemporary erotic stories and novels I've read, there are perhaps a dozen short stories and a half dozen novels I would consider literature. In contrast, most of the short stories and novels I've read written prior to the 1960s, I would consider as literature.

Hmm, I'd never heard of this, but after a quick Google it sounds very intriguing. Apparently it was filmed in 1984 as Lady Libertine.

Frank and I is absorbing from the start to the very last page. The ending of the novel always strikes me as kind of sad
