We do it

We do it, you and I.
Across times endless scapes
and scrapes and highs and lows.
Through heated words, and endless years
of sameness.

We do it, you and I
Through raising kids and dogs and gerbils
and mortgages and bills
Through final notices ignored and bailiffs
thwarted in time.

We do it, you and I
Through better times and bank accounts and
holidays abroad
Money lender, taxi driver, councillor, landlord
and sometimes just parent

We do it, you and I
Across times endless scapes
and scrapes and grand kids
Large house to ourselves nice empty
occasionally filled to capacity

Yes we do it you and I.
Find the spark and dare
To love and live with passion.
Together one again…..

I think this is a great poem. The sense of restraint by the author is admirable.
