Sad news about Les Paul the master guitarist, we think some should go on forever.
I listened to Les Paul & Mary Ford in the 50s, loved their music.
Especially since the Nazis banned most overseas bands.
Once all that was gone, a new world of music and art opened up.
It is good to have an open mind about everything.

Unfortunate, it really is.
Any guitarist who can get Gibson to name a line of guitars after them is truely remarkable.

A sad day indeed, I'm reminded of a lyric from a beetles song, While my Guitar Gently Weeps.
"I look at the world and I notice it's turning
While my guitar gently weeps
With every mistake we must surely be learning
Still my guitar gently weeps "
I hadn't played on my Les Paul in a year or so, but that day I heard about this I picked it up and started to play some somber songs.
Any recording artist owes a lot to Les Paul. He pioneered multi tracking, and painstakingly built layer upon layer of tracks to come up with a sound that still blows people away to this day. He was a master in both sides of the recording studio.
He was our "Wizard". http://www.jsonline.com/news/waukesha/53141582.html
