    Dear MR. PRESIDENT

"mr. President will you and your family give up your current health care program
and join the new 'universal health care program' that the rest of us will be on ????"
(bet you already know the answer) there was a stoney silence as obama ignored the question and chose not to answer it !!!*
in addition, a number of senators were asked the same question and their response was."we will think about it."*
and they did.*it was announced today on the news that the "kennedy health care bill" was written into*the new health care reform initiative ensuring that that congress will be 100%*exempt*!* so,*this great new health care plan that is good for you and i... Is*not good enough for obama, his family or congress...??*
we (the american public) need to stop this proposed debacle asap !!!!*this is totally wrong !!!!!*
personally, i can only accept a universal health care overhaul that extends to everyone... Not just us lowly citizens...*while the washington "elite" keep right on with their gold-plated health care coverages. *

    Dear Cajun,
There is no universal program. They didn't pass one. Now you get to continue paying your same inflated rates to your same insurance company. If you don't have one I suggest Humana. They paid their CEO $700 million last year. Sure you'll be glad to do your part for this year's bonus.

I have public health care. It's called Medicare. It's great and you'll love it too if you should live so long. Let's compare rates and benefits with my public plan vs your private wealth builder for rich CEO plan instead of soundbites.

I guess Obama and his posse are pushing this health care stuff to benefit the lower classes and reduce costs for everyone. If his goal is to benefit the many and save money, he should get congress to stop being such selfish pigs. Every congressman and congresswoman gets the same salary from the day they get elected to the day they die. Plus free full health care. They're showered with privilege, preferential treatment, and money from the lobbyists hired by billion dollar industries. Did farmers ever get their much needed multi billion dollar bailout? No. Why? Because they don't have highly paid lobbyists taking congressmen to $500 lunches. Congress should be forced to actually earn their money by working for the people again.

Wanna save money Obama? Start kicking out the 11 million illegal immigrants. They're openly breaking the law by even being here. They don't pay taxes yet they taxpayer funded services.

The oil industry inflates the price of gas and diesel, and alot of the money goes to dictatorships. American automakers have failed to improve efficiency, but succeeded in giving their executives huge salaries and bonuses, even when they claim to be losing money.

what I find especially galling about the health care bill (and no one seems to be much upset about it) is the fact that the government is going to force you to buy and have insurance--if you don't, than you will pay a fine. Now, this is America--or at least I thought it was. Since when is it an accepted thing for the government to force you to buy or pay for health insurance--or pay a fine. But apparantly, it is an accepted thing because no one seems to be upset about it. Health insurance is not a guaranteed right that everyone must have, just as having a job is not a guaranteed right that everyone must have, neither is attending college. or owning a new car.

I just want to point out that we have to pay social security, medicare and income taxes and we don't get a choice. I'm not in favor of the health care plan being discussed, but please be aware that there are a lot of laws requiring us to pay money. Health care would just be another one.

    Fred,

Once again, you've brought a butter knife to a gun fight.

The health care bill wasn't about helping the uninsured, it never was. The health care bill is an omnibus (look it up). This omnibus would be able to regulate business hours of all businesses, it would regulate the menus of restaurants, and it would've mandated the mileage of cars sold in the US. Lastly, it would exceed, by at least four times, the cost Obama said it would have.

The forefathers of this country were very wise in limiting the powers of the government, installing checks and balances to keep government out of the lives of the citizenry. Obama and his cohorts want to turn the US into another USSR. They want power in the hands of a select few and want an end to the middle class.

The setback in Massachusetts was a wakeup call to the dems. Obama brought in his top gun, who told him to drop healthcare, but Obama refuses to. Because of the healthcare bill, the dems are going to take a beating this November, but if they actually pass a healthcare bill, in any form, there won't be a single democrat left in Congress. It will be then end of the dems for at least a generation.

    Fred,

Once upon a time in this wonderful county, students were required to read history, American history, and study why the original settlers crossed the Atlantic to come to America...the reason was Freedom. When the British crown denied the American colonists the same right and freedoms as those enjoyed by the residents of Great Britian, the result was the American Revolution. For the first 11 years after the Revolution we lived under the Articals of Confederation because people mistrusted a strong central government and wanted power to reside in the states. It was eventually agreed that a central governement was necessary, but it could not be trusted with too much power. The three branches of governement, all of the limitations on power and the 10th Amendment....above all, the 10th Amendment...were intended to protect the people from the Federal government growning too strong. If all else failed, the Founders gave us the Second Amendment....it was there to give citizens the right to protect their rights....no to go squirrel hunting.

Read the Federalist Papers, see the words and thoughts of the people who wrote the constitution.

Lastly, just because there are some Federal laws on the books does not mean that the goverment has the right to pass similar laws. The limitations on the Federal government were tossed out the window and the freedom of private citizens were raped by FDR during the 1930's. That rape has turned into a gang bang with by the current occupant of the White House and his gang of Chicago thugs and the power hungery "progressives" (reds) in the House and Senate. Just because a law is passed by Congress does not mean it is constitutional.

You do know that he wanted to bring every American on to his health care plan but the republicans didn't want lower income people to have access good medical care. And it has nothing to do with the cost. I know that it may seem counter-intuitive but the more people on a health care plan the more it lowers the average premium.

Obama's (and the demo-controlled congess) health care plan is a perfect example of the hypocrisy practiced by them. They made sure that they are exempt from the health care plan. It's a case of do what I say, not what I do. Any way you look at it, it's clear as day that Obama--and the majority in congress--are socalists and are determined to turn this country into a socalist state--with the federal government in control of everything, every facet of our lives. If Obama and the majority in congress are reelected, there will be four more years of ever-increasing control by the federal government.

OMG are all people from Tennessee the ignorant? You don't even know what a socialist is if you think Obama is remotely socialist. It is scary to think that people like you can vote in elections. Let me guess, you are also one of those people who believe Obama wasn't born in this country, aren't you?

so you're allowed to spout off racist posts but when some one calls you on it they get banned? And yes, what you said about Obama is completely racist and completely misrepresents facts and history.

The joke is on the American people. The working people will soon be among the people without insurance. The costs that are incurred giving free health care to people who don't want to pay for it will make it impossible for us to pay for ours. Then everyone except the unions and the government get what ever the politicians feel like giving us that week.

Why is socialised health care so frightning for americans when so many of them cross into canada every year to avail themselves of the service there.

Our fearful leader is a straight A student of Karl Marx. He desires to have two classes of people, as all socialist truly do. They spout equality for all but the true is, two classes of people. The working class, that he wants to see equally poor and his ruling class which is to be beyond reproach. He cannot bring the piss poor medical care of the rest of the world's working class up to ours so he works to lower the level of our medical system to the level of theirs. All the while insuring that He and his ruling class are exempt from the lousy health care destined for us. Ask yourself the question. if socialized medicine is so great why do so many people from countries with always come to the US for treatment? The answer is simple they want to continue to live. This should be enough for most semi intelligent people to question the true motives behind Obamacare. Notice I said PEOPLE not SHEEPLE.

Pharmacy and health care are not really the same thing. Getting treatment from doctors and buying bills are not equal. The prescription drugs sold in Canada and Mexico are not subject to the same level of quality control, testing or inspection that they are in the US. Another major issue is that the drug producers in other countries are not subject to being sued to the extent they are in the US. Thus cheaper drugs not better health care.

Sorry to say you have been misinformed some drugs in Canada are Imported from America supplied by the same manafacturing companys as in the US and often are in the American packaging the only diference being the price reduction to as much as one fith the price charged across the border

the American drug company cartel spend 2.9 million dollars on influencing the senate and congress every day 365 days a year [thats there own figure admitted to at a congressional hearing on lobbyists] do you realy believe they spend that much becaus there open and honest and have your best interests at heart.

I dont know about Mexico but the European drug administration agencys budget for testing is larger than the FDA,s and just as stringent. In fact more drug recalls have been forced by studies and research from outside america than those carried out by the FDA.

Wow, bunch of right wing whingers in here. Note 1: Obama is a fairly strong capitalist. Graph of political position. Note 2: Your healthcare system needs total and utter reform when there are bureaucratic costs of over $1000 per capita per year. I suggest you take a note out of Singapore's book (not dare try call them socialist) and make a workable system. Their entire costs are about $1000 per capita per year. Govt pays $700, citizen $300. (Source, Undercover Economist)

Now people, calm down, and start citing some references or shut up.
Thrusting in and out, cranking at 7000RPM. A PISTON powered FUCKING MACHINE!

For anyone to come to the conclusion that One Big Ass Mistake America come out as "a fairly strong capitalist" based on his voting record "present" was his typical vote, campaign promises, "distribution of the wealth", nationalizing car manufactures in order to protect his union contributors, supporting more laws and regulation geared to the restriction of the ability of small businesses to create jobs while dumping BILLIONS of dollars into government jobs must either be playing with a deck short a few cards or have been into the cool aid a wee bit too much. He is the most socialistic president this country has ever had. Obama has added more to the national debt in his 20 months in office than all the presidents from George Washington to Ronald Regan combined and more damage to this country than any other president. He will go down in history as the best thing to happen to the Jimmy Carter presidential administration.

As for our health care system that you claim needs a total and utter reform, I agree we need some changes starting with limiting lawyers lining their pockets. The rest of the world continues to reap many benefits developed and proven in this country, not Singapore, Canada, Mexico or the European countries. That is why so many people from these progressive countries find that if they want to continue live they need to come here for health care.

    thank you landy.

    and @ehwatup same with me.

heres something to chew on... obama isnt socialist enough to get socialist backing, so we just have a fake "socialist" running us. i for one say heil socialism, but others are to pussy to say that.

i would also like to point out thaat you have to buy car insurance, and no one complains about that. so youre angry when you must protect your health, but not when its your car?

its also about people with cancer or people who are pregnant. it makes it so insurance cant deny them.

p.s. ussr was socialist in name only. they were pure communist.
