    A Movie or a DVD.

Would you rather see a movie at the theater or at home on DVD, and why?

Depends on my mood. If it's an epic movie, I'd rather see it on the big screen - something like Avatar you just have to see on the big screen.

Depends on the movie, really, if it's something I've been dying to see I'd like to see it ont he big screen, otherwise, I'd just watch it on DVD.

It's gotta be a really good movie for me to pay the ticket price anymore... plus munchies
    Are we there yet?

Usually at home with all the stuff that makes my life comfortable. Sometimes at the theater because the popcorn there is better than microwave and the big screen is better.

I have to agree with most of the comments above, it depends on the movie and the mood. For most, I'll buy the DVD and watch it at home ( I have a huge stack waiting to be watched!). If I have company for the movie, its much easier to get comfortable with them to watch it and, if necessary, pause it until we settle back down to watch it.

For some movies, and I understand that Avitar is probably one of those, the theater esperience is much better. All the Star Wars movies were that way, too. Most of the times I've gone to the movies (not much recently), it was with a guy with the intention of getting it on during and after the movie. As a result, I seldom saw any of the movie since I was lost in my own world as he played with me or lost in our making out or I had my head in his lap as I drained his balls. Now, its a lot easier just to have them come over to my place or go to theirs and do whatever that way. Sometimes, I even actually watch the movie!

For me, it's cheaper and better to get a DVD of a movie. I hate going to see a movie and have to hear cell phones, a baby crying, and jerks talking loudly.

I prefer to watch a DVD, we have a huge TV and surround sound – so it’s pretty close to going to the movies anyway. This way I can watch a movie in the comfort of my PJ’s, enjoy a couple of drinks and snuggle up with Hubby…

Pretty much the same reasons as people have been posting, with the choice depending a lot on what it is that I want to watch.

DVDs are great for being able to pause, rewind and start exactly when you want it to and not according to someone else's schedule.

And why do we still say "rewind" when nothing gets physically rewound any more since VHS tapes pretty much went extinct?

It appears the common consensus is the DVD and for pretty much the same reason. Creature Comforts. It is so much nicer watching a movie on your couch, curled up under a blanket, the Chihuahua's curled up around you. A bowl of popcorn in your lap and the lights down low. Besides at the theater, the kinda get mad if you pass out and start snoring!

definately a dvd, theaters are so expensive that it's not worth going unless it's an epic movie that you just can't wait any longer to go see.
