I used to be a massive F1 fan - back in the 90's. I'd make sure I'd watch every race, and qualifying.

Then F1 went off the free channel, and Murray Walker (commentator) retired, so I sort of lost interest. If I was at a TV and it was on, I could maybe watch a race. But a lot of the drivers are different now, and there isn't the same charm that was there in the 90's.

Nascar fan here. I was sure pulling for Kyle Busch tonight. I think they ought to have let Kyle and Burton have at it after the 600. Kyle did nothing wrong that I saw.

I liked NASCAR up to the point they went to playoffs and it turned into a DRAMA fest. It was much better in the early 90s and probably even in the late 80s...

I like whitewater jet boat racing, circle boat races and desert rally racing these days.

I follow F1 and have done for many years. I will watch any form of motorsport but my main interests are F1, World Rally Cars, Moto GP, British Touring Cars and British Super Bikes. I refuse to pay for any TV channel so this rather restricts what is available here in the UK.

I'd watch Nascar/Indy 500 (not sure which goes with which - mega ignorant there) as one of the drivers was a year ahead of me at school!

Bring back Murray Walker! He made F1 so interesting to watch along with Martin Brundle.

Murray Walker was, is, and will always be a legend. He really was half the reason I watched F1.

Old NASCAR fan, but now I just watch occasionally to see how the boyz are doing. I'd like to see Martin win a championship under the old rules. The new playoff format sucks!

Only thing I like about Nascar are the wrecks lol. Other than that, to me at least, is just left turn. Left turn. Left turn. Left turn...

I like Formula 1 and MotoGP

I was driving on a bendy road yesterday, and thought back to a comment made here that Nasacar is left, left, left. And it got me wondering - do Nascar tyres have extra rubber specifically for those left turns? That is, extra rubber on the outer left tyre, and extra on the inner of the right tyre - as the wear will pretty much only occur there because of the left turns.

Bit of a weird question, but I'm not sure where to look, and thought there might be a brainiac on here who might know.

The left and right side tires are frequently of different compounds (hardness) but there is no more rubber on one side than the other. Poor wear is usually the result of a poor set-up. The crews push the limits to get the best speed. Unfortunately, this often leads to tire failure and a spectacular ending to a drivers day.

I myself like GT Racing. I like to looks of the cars, the speed, the tracks, and the endurance. the 24 hour races are my favorites. I use to go to watch the 24 Hours of Daytona ( now calledRolex 24 at Daytona) in person. That was thrill.

I’m a huge fan of our V8 Supercar Series over here. And when they race at Bathurst in October, it’s the one time everyone knows to leave us alone for the weekend.

Having driven the track once when it was open to the public, I have always wanted to drive it at full race speed, but have never had the opportunity to do so.

Over the years the drivers have learnt that it’s not just the other cars you have to worry about – but the Kangaroo’s that decide to “hop on” the track mid race :)
Don't worry... it only seems kinky the first time ;)

Webber did amazing at Silverstone. Not only did Red Bull give him Vettel's reject car but they also took his special front wing to give it to Vettel after he'd broken his own.

Webber is one fine Aussie driver! And he is leading the championship too.

Love watching F1!!! i have watched it for about 17 years now. kinda tuned out in the 2000-2004 schumacher dominated era but am loving it more then ever now that the little shit is failing at his comeback.

V8 supercars are always interesting too. the 1000 is a weekend where it doesnt feel so bad to be eating the worst food on the planet and be drunk all day.

There was a time that I was a big Nascar fan, but a few years ago the racing started getting bad and I have lost interest.

Personally I keep my eye on F1, GP2 and WSbR series, but my absolute favorite motorsport is WRC. It's visually good to watch.

Never been that into motorsports, but being down-under I do find the V8 supercar series interesting and I could definitely enjoy a weekend at Mt Panorama one day to watch the Bathurst 1000. I guess a lot of both Aussie and NZ people like myself who have only a passing interest in motorsports do make an exception the Sunday that race is on and spend all day watching it.

The kangaroos sometimes enjoy it too...
